PRELUDIUM21 GRANTED TO OUR I-COMET TEAM MEMBER

  • by

Anna Nowak, MD, PhD Candidate from the Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology will receive over 200,000 PLN in the PRELUDIUM21 grant to carry out a project on determining the role of empagliflozin treatment in epigenetic modification of non-coding RNA – sirtuin – Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 axis after myocardial infarction. The scientific goal of the project is to evaluate the effect of sirtuin pathway modifications under the influence of SGLT2 inhibitors in patients after myocardial infarction. Additionally, better knowledge of pharmacogenomics can help clarify the molecular mechanisms by which SGLT2 inhibitors exert their effects. The Mentor of the project is prof. Marek Postuła.
