Professor Salvatore De Rosa is an interventional cardiologist and Associate Professor of Cardiology at the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences, Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro.
His main research interests include pathophysiological mechanisms and involvement of noncoding RNA in atherosclerosis, thrombosis and vascular biology, ischemic heart disease and biomarkers in cardiovascular medicine. More recently, he has expanded his research interests to diabetes, including the impact of metabolism on cardiovascular disease and to digital health, personalized medicine and the role of artificial intelligence and mathematical models in cardiovascular disease.
He has coordinated and participated to several clinical studies focused on interventional and pharmacological treatment of cardiovascular disease.
His research activity produced over 140 publications in high impact peer-reviewed journals, with a total Impact Factor of >600 and an h-Index of 35 (i10-index=75). His works have received over 8000 citations.
Prof. De Rosa received research grants from scientific societies, such as the Fellowship for scientific excellence of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), the EAPCI’s Research Grant, the Research Grant of the Italian Society of Cardiology (Società Italiana di Cardiologia) and was awarded the Young Investigator Award of Italian Society of Cardiology, the Young Investigator Award of the I.N.R.C. (National Institute of Cardiovascular Research) as well as the Rudolf-Thauer Prize of the German Cardiac Society (Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Kardiologie).
Prof. De Rosa has actively served in national and international scientific societies in the field of cardiovascular science and has been actively involved in the organization and management of national and international congresses in cardiovascular medicine. He has a long-standing experience as an editor in top-ranking peer reviewed scientific journals.
